power lines across the width of the frame, anchored by a lone utility pole in the right third of the frame. the sky is a steel blue with deeply textured clouds, and in the bottom left of the frame is a thicker cloud, its center looking dark as a storm cloud and its edges aglow with the sun behind it, overexposed.   two swans among reeds, one standing with its neck straight up, and another behind it to the right sitting down, neck arced down over its body, its eye peering warily through a gap in the reeds.   a forest aglow with golden light. in the right third of the frame, in rather flat light, is the base of a utility pole bolted to a cubical concrete foundation. the forest is visible in a thin gap between the concrete and pole. the pole is painted white, though it's more of a dark powder blue in the light, with streaks of rust. the sun is producing a bright line along its left edge.   a female red-winged blackbird (which neither is black nor has red on its wings) perching on the side of an almost vertical reed. there are rather few reeds around it, a few with sort of compacted looking cattail heads. the bird has mixed light and black feathers forming a kind of jagged stripey pattern, a black crown, a white streak over its eye to its beak, and gold coloration on its chin and in the portion of the white stripe nearest its beak. its tail is brownish and slightly fanned out.   the same bird, looking back over is shoulder. from this angle it's clear it's carrying a very small twig in its mouth.   a male red winged blackbird, viewed in side profile and taking up most of the frame. it's calling, beak wide open, and though its head is mostly too shadowed to make out detail its beady eye is visible. it's perched on a cattail head among a small, chaotic collection of reeds.   strongly backlit woods, trunks and branches and the leaves in front of them appearing very dark. the sky is overexposed white and bleeding through the leaves in most of the frame. the leaves in the brightest area of the frame are outlined in white by the sun. or maybe by the camera's postprocessing algorithm.   closeup of honeysuckle in the woods, with fuzzy mauve stems, softly lit leaves, and pale pink flowerbuds. the leaves in front of areas of sky are ringed by light.   close-up of buffeted water coursing down a shallow stream from the top to the bottom of the frame. extending from a stony shore at top right across the diagonal is an assemblage of roots acting as a sort of dam, thin ripples forming just upstream. further along the diagonal it's not so tall and the water flows over it. above the diagonal some reflections of trees and sky can be made out with partial clarity, and below it the water is chaotic and muddy blue. some thin, leafy branches extend over the right of the frame.
