view of a small pond in a lush green marsh, sun glinting at its edges. two trees with tilted trunks stand near the pond, casting a shadow over nearby reeds. two mallard ducks are in the pond with their heads down in the water.   view from below of oak branches spanning across the frame backed by pale blue sky. a male cardinal is perched in center frame. leaves are only present in clusters, also containing hanging strings of small flowers. the leaves are a very pale yellow-green, and the flowers a dull amber.   stands of trees in front of a vibrant blue sky with fuzzy clouds. altocumulus? in the right side of the frame there are poplars, somewhat bendy but relatively rail-straight, thin trees with white bark with occasional grey patches. their leaves are lime and kind of sparse looking. at left there are normal looking deciduous trees with darker bark and leaves.   a winding path through a deciduous forest, wide with well-packed, smooth light soil. at left there's a bend in the path lined with young thin trees. the sun is subtly lighting the leaves in the top right of the frame and casting branched shadows onto the path.   a single wood violet flower extending across the frame by its stem, backed by leaf litter and a piece of wood. there's also a small plant - a cluster of five thin, pointed leaves - that the flower almost looks to be growing from - but it isn't, the stem isn't connected.   view of the side of a wood boardwalk, extending diagonally from the left to top of frame. there's a square wood support post bolted to it with a hefty metal bracket, and another bracket at the bottom of the post for some reason. to the right of the post there's some graffiti reading 2 FISH 4 EVA!! :) ❤️ The dots of the exclamation points are the eyes of the smiley.   pale reeds with out-of-focus forest, mottled green, behind them. there's a red-winged blackbird perching on one reed, its weight leaning the reed to the left. it's looking back at the forest.   bright blue sky with some fuzzy clouds. to the left of center frame stands a large roundish tree with branches generally arcing upwards towards the sky, covered in new clusters of orange leaves and seeds. treetops, not vibrant orange but sickly yellow-green in comparison, are visible in the bottom right corner of the frame   closeup of a cluster of maple seeds and leaves growing from the end of a thin branch. on top are the leaves, still kind of shriveled looking, with a smaller cluster of smaller, younger leaves forming a crown. the small leaves and major veins of the larger leaves are chartreuse, and the rest of the leaves are a burnt orange. hanging below by bright red stems are the chartreuse seed pods, pairs of helicopters. the sections containing the seeds are smooth with fine hairs, and the wings of the more mature ones are striated with red. more branches and clusters are out of focus in the background, and behind them a pale blue clouded sky.   tilted view of two utility towers joined by power lines to each other and more towers out of frame. behind them in the right side of the frame are some treetops. in front of them, blurry, are some thin branches. all are so dark as to almost be silhouettes. the sky is a dull blue because I didn't bother with color correction, and the clouds grey at their centers and lit up along their edges.   closeup of a dark patch on an aspen trunk. the rest of the bark is light, smooth but cracked, and mottled and spotted with some areas of darker grey. the patch is a much darker grey and rough, covered in gold and green lichens. at its right edge there's a broken branch that looks like an animal's horn.   closeup of lichen on a rough vertical metal bar taking up the left third of the frame. the bar has a rust and purplish patina and a rectangular profile, viewed with one face roughly towards the camera and a perpendicular face at a steep angle. the near face is mostly bare with a few tiny aqua-grey lichen patches, and is out of focus. the perpendicular face passes through the focal plane, with large overlapping patches of gold, aqua-grey, and green lichens. the background, in the remaining two-thirds of the frame, is an out-of-focus assemblage of branches and lush leaves   reflections of trees on a pond, a ripple spreading in the bottom left corner amongst soft clusters of duckweed and pale leaves, interrupting a gradient of cool white to steel blue with sharp rings of the same. a sapling, half sunlit, leans in front of the ripple. at the right of the frame three floating logs catch the sun too.   another metal structure- part of a small bridge, a diagonal bar connecting three horizontal slats. most of it is in deep shadow, a dull, dark, rust color, but the top surface of the diagonal bar is lit by the sun almost edge-on, giving it a paler grey color. shadows are cast upon it by one of the horizontal slats and some unseen thin branches, and its surface is densely covered in small patches of lichens. the angle of the sun gives the surface roughness and thickness of the lichen strong definiton through shadow. behind the bridge, out of focus, are thin branches, much pale dead undergrowth with some fresh green among it, and rich blue water.   red-winged blackbird, staring to the right, perched on a branch just past a fork in front of an electric blue sky. the bark of the branches is pale and so furrowed as to almost look like it's peeling. thinner branches extend all about, some growing thick with narrow new leaves. most of the blackbird's body is in shadow, but the sun glints off the end of its tail, the claws of its feet, the red band at the top of its left wing, its head and throat, and its piercing eye.   a grackle perched on one bare branch among many in right in front of a dead-looking trunk. behind the branches and out of focus, there's a dull gradient of pale reeds up to a muddy green treeline. the grackle's body is mostly dark but partly lit up, dully, in iridescent orange and green. its neck is a relatively vibrant iridescent blue.   a grackle and a red-winged blackbird perching on branches on either side of a dead tree. behind the dead tree are several more short ones far away, and beyond them, big lush trees, pale gold on the left and verdant green in the center and right. the blackbird, perched higher, is looking somewhere between left and dead ahead, while the grackle, head ringed in iridescent blue, is looking left and to the sky.   a white swan standing on one leg among reeds just beside water, its left side viewed in profile. its long neck is tucked down to its body. its head and some of its neck have uneven sandy coloration, and its beak and legs are black (deep slate blue in the light.) the reeds are mostly dead, but some short green ones are growing among their taller predecessors. there is only a narrow sliver of water visible, but the reeds and the swan's standing leg are reflected in it   the swan again, viewed from a bit farther. its neck is still tucked down but its head is perked up a little, facing ahead. its eye is closed, giving it a blissful expression   the swan again, now looking to the right with its head still in profile. its other leg is visible now, curled up just below its body.
